Midwest-Chicagoland, December 2007

Twenty-five members of the RCA Midwest-Chicagoland Region braved a cold and snowy evening to attend an educational seminar on milk and cream flavors on December 6, 2007.  This informative event was presented by Chief Flavorist Judy Michalski and the Technical Solutions team of Edlong Flavors.  The attendees learned about the different descriptors used when discussing the flavor attributes of milk and cream as well as their corresponding chemical compounds.  The presentation was enhanced by small tastes of different dairy products that were provided as an edible example of the terminology.

Our group also had the opportunity to experience a delicious tapas-style dinner of flavorful Mexican dishes made at the venue where the event took place:  Flamingo’s Seafood Restaurant in Mount Prospect, Ill.  A great time was had by all who attended; the combination of friends, food, and flavors was a memorable end to a busy year for the region.  We’re looking forward to the Regionals Breakfast coming up at the RCA Conference in Seattle.  Please join us and help kick off another great year!
