Hello and welcome to www.culinology.org, home to the Research Chefs Association (RCA), a dynamic organization of approximately 2,500 members from all sectors of the food industry.   Professionals in research and development, manufacturing, packaging, foodservice, catering, and restaurants of all sizes are turning to RCA because they are passionate about innovation and quality.  Chef members, food science members, culinologists, sales professionals, students, and many others are united by Culinology® —the fast growing discipline that blends culinary arts and food science/technology.

Culinology is having a profound impact on the food industry as it is bringing together a breadth of expertise and experience from all food product development professionals that strive to work together and learn from each other.  Collectively, we answer the need for superior quality food and flavor in all aspects of the food business, from independent restaurants to chain restaurants to resort kitchens to supermarket shelves.

The RCA has grown so rapidly in just 12 years due to industry professionals like you who are dedicated to advancing RCA’s vision and mission.  As a result, we have established numerous programs that provide our diverse membership with excellent opportunities for professional and personal growth:

  • Networking within the R&D organization, through the membership directory, RCA list serve, and year-round social and educational events
  • Continuing and higher education Culinology programs at major U.S. colleges and universities  
  • Professional certification program:  Certified Research Chef (CRC) and Certified Research Scientist (CCS)
  • Regional events for friendly, informal networking and educational seminars 
  •  Annual Conference & Culinology Expo 
  • Both higher education and continuing education scholarships offered by the Research Chefs Foundation
  •  Professional recognition through an awards program, Culinology competition, and other RCA-sponsored events
