About the role
Ready to be part of something really big? We're looking for a Technical Customer Development Food Scientist to support the successful implementation of our ingredients and technologies in our customers' products.
Key Responsibilities
Demonstrate knowledge of meat application with practical experience in hands-on formulation development, product scale-up, and manufacture this includes:
Day-to-day and long-term technical support to our customers regarding our ingredients and technologies that relates to Meat Alternative Applications
Setup and conduct design of experiments and tests to demonstrate the performance of our ingredients and technologies using internal or customer formulations
Develop new food formulations that meet customers goals and demonstrate the performance of our ingredients and technologies to meet their needs
Create customer experiment and trial reports to share with key stakeholders and customers, make recommendations for further development/technology/product needs
Collaborate with internal R&D and Commercial team by providing insights regarding customers' challenges and needs to boost ingredient/technology innovation pipeline.
Work closely with the R&D and Commercial team to develop go-to-market documentation and tools for our ingredients and technologies, including presentations, product data sheets, formulation sheets, and prototypes
Deliver technical presentations and product showings to external customers
Remain abreast of new and competitive technologies as they emerge and determine their application and/or impact on Motif's ingredients and technologies
Present Motif's ingredients and technologies at expo shows, conferences
Partner with Marketing and have a strong fundamental understanding of the on-trend needs of customers and consumers.
Build strong relationships with Commercial, Regulatory, Quality, and R&D team to successfully address customer technical needs on a timely basis
Education:
Requirements
Ph.D. with research experience in Plant-Based Meat Alternatives, or M.Sc. with 6+ years post-degree experience in Plant-Based Meat Alternatives, or B.Sc. with 8+ years post-degree experience in Plant-Based Meat Alternatives. Degree in Food Science/ Food Engineering/ Chemical Engineering/Chemistry or related fields
5+ years experience in the development of branded products or providing ingredient related technical expertise to target customers
Expert in industry standard meat alternative formulations, processing, and testing methods
Experience in hands-on meat alternative application development using laboratory instrumentation, pilot plant equipment, and scale-up
Experience in managing projects with customers
Know how to build strong and trusted relationships with customers, understand their needs, and provide solutions
