Tyson Senior Chef 1

This position will be a part of our Foodservice Culinary team in the creation of product positioning, applications, and selling solutions for Tyson Foodservice Products. The position is charged with distilling available information with insights into meaningful, recommended, and relevant growth opportunities for key Tyson Food Service customers. The position interacts closely with Tyson sales, channel development in addition to and with key customers culinary, R&D, marketing, and operations functions.  Culinary, working collaboratively with Sales, Channel Development, Insights and Operations counterparts in this position is charged with helping the Tyson team to identify product solutions for our key customers and to drive share and volume for branded business and position Tyson resources as a necessary component of the decision- making process.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Strong foundation in relationship building with customers, vendor partners, and within industry associations,  effective & efficient project management and strong presentation skills are necessary for success working in Tyson Food’s and customer kitchen’s with other vendor partner chefs, often at customer location’s, to articulate ideas to a variety of  customers and audiences in an clear and understandable manner.  Must possess skills to build targeted profitability, functionality and versatility into new product concepts and applications.  This is a Selling Chef Position, not a product development chef position. Functions include recipes, applications, menu development & conceptual creations verses formula & laboratory work.  

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Culinary degree and/or certified chef credentials from the American Culinary Federation required.  Food Science, Meat Science, Culinology or relevant BS/BA degree/certification or education is highly recommended.
  • Experience: 7 plus years chef experience including 4 years of Selling leadership experience in the foodservice industry. Experience in at least 2 or 3 foodservice segments/channels i.e., foodservice national accounts, non-commercial, K-12, C-Store, healthcare, menu & recipe development, manufacturing experience a plus.
  • Computer Skills: Standard computer skills, MS programs, mandatory.
  • Communication: Excellent large group and 1:1 verbal and written communication skills. Must be comfortable on camera for digital media events/trainings/projects. 
  • Special Skills: HACCP certified; member of at least one professional chef association; high-level problem solving; very strong culinary creativity and foundational skillset.
  • Supervisory: Ability to lead and inspire multiple teams and team members.
  • Travel: Up to 60-65%

Compensation:  Based on experience; this role is starting at 64k with bonus potential of 10%
