New England Region Wine and Cheese Tasting Culinology Event

Join the New England RCA for a lovely wine and cheese tasting in Western Massachusetts, just minutes from I-91 and a few miles north of the Mass Pike.  The owners of the Vineyard will give us a tour and talk about their experience in the wine business and about their award-winning wines.  We will also hear from the owners of Grace Hill Farm about how they got into the cheese business.  There will be a tasting of a selection of both the wines and cheeses.  We will have some “small plate” eats so you won’t go home hungry.  Hope to see you there!

Black Birch Vineyard is a boutique winery located in the farming-rich community of Hatfield, Massachusetts. Offering notable, award-winning wines using premium grapes harvested from vineyards in the Northeast. Established in 2012, their vineyard was founded on the belief that truly great wine should be an art form, requiring much more than lab specialists and computerized fermentation charts. Since 2012, they have created 14 wines, 5 award-winning, using best grapes from the cooler Northeast region.

Grace Hill Farm is a family run grass-fed raw milk dairy and cheesemaker in Cummington, MA. The Breiteneicher family - Amy, Max, and 3 year-old Charlie - milk and rotationally graze their small herd of Normande and Ayrshire cows seasonally from April to December, to capture the essence of the fields of western Massachusetts in their 5 distinctive artisan cheeses - focusing on alpine and southern French styles with a New England twist. Non-alcoholic beverages will be available for those who may not or do not want to taste the wines.
