Join the Greater NY/Philly Metro Region as we welcome our esteemed chefs, sponsors and guests for our annual fundraising dinner at the James Beard House. We’re proud to announce year’s dinner, “Beard by the Books: Celebrating the Dean of American Cuisine” will display culinary excellence, influenced by James Beard himself along with our partners at the James Beard Foundation.

James Beard, the dean of American cuisine, was often torn as he initially saw little value in mass produced food, yet he also endorsed a number of food companies to fund his cooking school. This internal conflict was a struggle for him, as it is for many chefs in the research and development arena, as we were trained, educated, and gained experience in the art of fine dining and we all now work every day to feed the masses. By blending culinary arts and food sciences, we are becoming more inclusive as food product professionals and expanding the reach in creating innovative, delicious and accessible foods.

The Research Chefs Association aims to share and celebrate the talents of some of our members through a dinner honoring James Beard and his works on October 24th for James Beard Foundation guests and October 25th as a fundraising dinner to support the Research Chefs Association. Our fundraising goal for our dinner on October 25th is to raise at least $40,000.00 to continue the RCA’s mission of blending culinary arts and food sciences, supporting food product developers across the globe. Although the dinner is completely sold out, you can still participate in this 4-day event and help us reach our monetary goal by attending this Welcome Reception!

 

Welcome Reception:

When you arrive at 5:00 pm at Trattoria Dell'Arte, the receptionist will direct you to our reception. Included in the ticket price are passed around hors d’oeuvres, an antipasto bar and a sweets table. Tickets also include a limited open bar to include House Prosecco, House Red & White Wines, Imported and Domestic Beers, Soft Drinks & Mineral Waters.

              **Cocktails and specialty beverages can be purchased at the bar on your own.

What to Expect: Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the roots of Culinology and better understand our vision for blending culinary arts and food sciences across a larger network of food professionals and trade organizations. Mix and mingle with our elite team of chefs during this reception as we discuss the future of Culinology and connect with sponsor representatives and new friends through our venture with the James Beard Foundation.
